East Carson Street Historic Guidelines

Updated for 2026! The East Carson Street corridor is one of the largest Victorian main streets in the United States. In order to preserve the Victorian style row houses and commercial buildings, the City of Pittsburgh incorporated the designation of the East Carson Street Historic District in 1993.

Oliver Bath House Reopening

The Oliver Bath House reopened Saturday, March 7! The SSCC is proud to have been part of the effort that ensured this $5 million modernization project could happen โ€” preserving a piece of history for the next generation of South Siders. Our Mission


Founded in 1939, the South Side Community Council gives a voice to the residents of the South Side Flats neighborhood and strengthens the community by celebrating and embracing its history and its arts and cultures. Through collaboration and community partnerships, it will address the challenges facing the South Side while improving the quality of life and economic vitality of the neighborhood.
